Anti-Zionism
Featured Content
This collection contains numerous publications challenging Zionism, the racist political-religious ideology which argues that the Jewish people have legitimate territorial claims to a Jewish homeland. The Zionist movement began in 1897 with the foundation of the World Zionist Organization by Theodor Herzl. Zionist ideology plays a major role in justifying the colonization of Palestine and creation of the Israeli State in 1948 and in further conquests of Palestinian lands in the June 1967 and October 1973 Wars. Today, it continues to be central in legitimizing the proliferation of Israeli settlements in Palestine and the accompanying state sanctioned violence and racism. While centered in Israel, Zionist ideology has widespread support throughout the world, particularly in the United States. The collection presents the views of numerous critics of Zionism, particularly Jewish anti-Zionists such as Moshe Menuhin and Dr. Israel Shahak. It includes articles, monographs, and books on anti-Zionism, the colonial roots and nature of Zionism, socialist responses and alternatives to Zionism, and the viciousness of the Zionist lobby in the United States, particularly the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
